AS and A Level Results

Success at South Wilts Grammar School and plenty of the new A* grade!

Students have yet again excelled in their A Level examinations this year with a fantastic 71% of all A Level results at A*, A or B grades. A massive 19% of all grades were at the new A* grade, although no university offers depend on it. Although it's too early to tell, it looks as if most of our students have got into the university of their choice.

With an ever growing Sixth Form, 172 girls took A Level examinations this year, with 45 students gaining 3 or more A Levels at grade A or A*. Jocasta Patel gained 5 A Levels at the new A* grade and a place at Oxford - a fantastic achievement!
A further 6 girls gained 4 A Levels at grade A* - Amy Creese, Katie Davies, Miranda Kent, Charlotte Little, Mary Price and Emma Rhind-Tutt.

We are delighted with the number of students that have gained places at top universities this year, with 7 girls gaining places to study at Oxford and 5 at Cambridge, with Mary Price also receiving a Cambridge Choral Scholarship.

This high standard of achievement was matched at AS Level, with 6 girls gaining an impressive 6 AS Levels at grade A and a further 13 students achieving all their 5 AS Levels at grade A.

Many of the students have excelled, not just academically but in sport, drama, music and a huge range of activities from modelling or sailing.

All our students, whether they have been at South Wilts for seven years or joined us for the Sixth Form, have achieved deservedly high levels of success. This year's tremendous results are a credit to the hard work and determination of students and staff and the support of parents and friends.
