The Rotary Club Young Chef Competition

Ella Reed (11A) won The Rotary Club Young Chef Competition for Salisbury. This was held at Wyvern College on 30th September 2010. She now goes on to the county finals in November (Mrs Mahoney)

On Thursday 30th October I took part in a Rotary Club Young chef competition. I was really worried about it, having never cooked my main course before and having no previous experience in cooking competitions. However, when I got there everyone was lovely and it was really easy to just relax and cook. I made marinated mackerel with couscous and for dessert a lemon meringue pie.

When they announced the winners I didn't think there was any chance I would win. Everyone else's looked so amazing! But somehow I managed to do it and won a set of cooking utensils and a place to the next round which is in November.

Continuing news - Rotary Club Young Chef

Ella Reed in 11A took part in the second round of the Rotary Club Young Chef of the year competition on 24th November. She had already won the Salisbury round and was competing against students from the rest of Wiltshire.

Ella made a very successful two course Thai meal and she got through to the District final to be held in Bournemouth in February. (Mrs Mahoney)
