South Wilts visits the Queen!

On 1st May twenty very excited year 7 students visited the Diamond Jubilee Fair in Salisbury Cathedral Close and waited patiently for a glimpse of the Queen. They were not disappointed and had a front row view of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip unveiling a plaque to commemorate the historic visit.

The students had the opportunity to visit a range of stalls representing organisations across the county and particularly enjoyed watching the medieval re-enactment and seeing the wide variety of wide life on display. As well as our year 7 students South Wilts also had a number of students playing within the Wilshire Youth Orchestra and representing the Guides.

Students were selected from within their tutor groups and represented the school with great pride. Despite the wet walk to the Cathedral the sun soon appeared and the girls had a wonderful time waving their flags and singing the national anthem. A wonderful way to mark a memorable day for Salisbury.
