Another oustanding year for GCSEs

South Wilts Grammar School celebrates another year of outstanding GCSE results

Another outstanding set of results for the 122 Year 11 students were greeted with delight and excitement as so many students exceeded their expectations. 100% of the year group gained 5 A*-C grades at GCSE with 100% A* - C grades in English and Mathematics. 81% of the examinations taken were awarded A* and A grades, which is a huge increase from last year's 76%. The hard work and commitment of the students is exceptional and they deserve this success.

Sophie Davie gained A*s in all 14 subjects and Amy Watson gained 13 A*s and one A. A total of 38 students achieved all A / A* grades in 10 or more subjects.

Headteacher Frances Stratton said, 'This is another amazing set of results for the school; students, teachers and parents have every reason to feel proud. The numbers of students achieving the very highest grades has improved again and this is our best year yet'.
