Exceptional Outcomes at A Level

SWGS is celebrating another year of exceptional A Level results, with 157 students sitting their exams and 37% of all grades awarded at A or A*. Our value-added score highlights the remarkable progress our students make throughout their time in our Sixth Form, with Further Maths standing out – an incredible 92% of grades at A or A*.

A large majority of our students secured their first-choice university places, including 11 future medics, dentists and vets, and a 100% success rate for Oxbridge applicants. Our students’ talents span far and wide – from Musical Theatre at the prestigious Bird College Conservatoire, to a highly competitive apprenticeship with DSTL, and many other exciting pathways.

Headteacher Dr Amanda Smith said, “We are immensely proud of every student’s hard work and determination. These results are a testament to the dedication of both staff and students in creating a supportive, inclusive, and academically challenging environment.”

GCSE Results 2025

SWGS Celebrates Outstanding GCSE Results

South Wilts Grammar School is proud to announce one of its best ever set of GCSE results. A total of 155 students sat their GCSEs this year, achieving exceptional outcomes that surpass previous years at the very highest level.

An impressive 78% of all examinations were awarded grades 7 to 9, with a remarkable 30% of all results at grade 9. Eight students achieved a clean sweep of at least ten subjects at grade 9, while 62 students secured eight or more subjects at grade 8 or 9. These results represent an outstanding achievement across the full range of subjects offered.

Headteacher Dr Amanda Smith said, “We are immensely proud of our students and all they have accomplished. These results are the product of their hard work, determination and commitment, as well as the dedication of our staff and the support of their families. The students have shown not only academic excellence but also great character, supporting each other and acting as outstanding role models across the school. We look forward to welcoming many of them back into Year 12 and to seeing them continue to thrive in the years ahead.”
