SWGS is celebrating another year of exceptional A Level results, with 218 students completing their examinations this summer. An impressive 31% of all grades were awarded at A or A*, while 31 students achieved a clean sweep of A*/A grades across at least three subjects.

These outstanding results have enabled the vast majority of students to secure places at their first-choice universities, pursuing a diverse range of academic and professional pathways. Students will be progressing to highly prestigious institutions and courses including Medicine, Mathematics, Professional Dance and Musical Theatre at the renowned Bird College Conservatoire. In addition, one student has secured a place at the Royal Welsh Conservatoire, while several others have gained places on highly competitive apprenticeship programmes in finance, law, accountancy and the Royal Navy.

Commenting on this year’s achievements, Headteacher Dr Amanda Smith said, “We are immensely proud of every student’s hard work and determination. Achieving these results with our largest-ever cohort is a remarkable accomplishment. It is a testament to the dedication of our staff and students, whose collective efforts have created a supportive, inclusive and academically ambitious environment where all learners can succeed.”

As we bid farewell to another successful cohort, we wish our students every success in their future studies, careers and lives beyond school. At the same time, we look forward to welcoming the next generation of Sixth Form students and supporting them as they strive to achieve their own ambitions and fulfil their potential.
